How Does It Work?

The Lumenis M22 IPL works by penetrating the dermis layer of the skin to create heat. The heat creates small controlled wounds called micro-injuries. When the wound heals, the body removes damaged blood vessels and old skin cells, replacing them with healthier, more desirable cells. As the skin heals itself, it also produces collagen and elastin, promoting skin tone and texture.However, these are minor and part of the healing process. The tiny injuries that are created by the procedure will quickly close up, causing no lasting damage to the tissue. The final result will be new, radiant skin that has reversed the hands of time.

What to Expect After the IPL Photofacial?

Following your treatment, it’s normal to notice skin flushing for up to 24 hours. Also, swelling is common, especially if you have sensitive skin. You may also notice that some areas of the skin darken and feel dry, but it will return to its natural state in less than a week.
