Prisma offers three different aesthetic technologies on one system. You can opt to use only one of the modalities, or to maximize your results, your provider can offer all three in one treatment session.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), often referred to as a “photo facial”, uses light energy to target discoloration in your skin including vessels, rosacea, pigment and sun damage. Your skin will appear to be more even toned.

Radiofrequency (RF) uses heat energy to promote collagen and elastin production to tighten the skin.

Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) enhances muscle tone by stimulating deep facial muscles.

Together, Prisma’s 3D Photo Facial uses all three modalities and by targeting variable layers of the skin, one treatment offers synergistic benefits and optimal outcomes.

Some improvements, like skin tightening and vascular lesion reduction, are noticeable immediately. Continued improvement in discoloration, sun spots, and collagen renewal can be seen weeks following the treatment.

Prisma’s IPL treatment may not be suitable for darker skin tones. EMSand RF have fewer limitations but it is important to talk to your provider about your specific risk profile.

‘Photo facial’ typically refers to IPL treatment only and is a safe and effective way to target color in your skin. One of the main benefits of Prisma is that the IPL hand pieces are designed to be more comfortable than other devices. To treat discoloration and vascular lesions you need heat, which may translate to discomfort for some, which is why Prisma offers cooling to optimize comfort without needing to sacrifice results.
